In southern Sweden, there is a house in colours. Here, true to tradition, everything is built of wood – for what could be more natural and fitting in this beautifully forested land, which is rooted in many years of proud craftsmanship and timber culture.
But a little twist has crept in – transparent colours have been added, which do not cover the wood but allow its grains to show clearly through.
I would go so far as to say that the colours highlight the wood's "language"!
Besides giving the wood a completely different dimension in appearance, Satin Wood Oil nourishes and saturates the wood, making it more durable and resistant to dirt and grime, thus protecting the surface in case of accidents.
Satin Wood Oil is breathable, meaning you don't wrap the walls in a "plastic bag" as has been the custom in modern construction for many years. The reason is that Satin Wood Oil is not mixed with water and microplastics like many water-based products often are; rather, it is simply a linseed oil product where the linseed oil binds the pigment to the wall.
Satin Wood Oil is easy to apply – in fact, once you start, you often can't find enough surfaces to oil.
If you would like to try using the product, you can watch our video on how to apply it here or read about how it can be used here.
Satin Wood Oil is available in many colours, but if you can't find exactly what you're looking for, please contact us, as we can create custom blends precisely to your specifications!
Even if you don't have a wooden house, you can use the oil on untreated wooden furniture or floors. Even untreated concrete floors and cork furniture can look beautiful after such a colourful treatment.
The house was designed by the Wingårdhs architectural firm in Sweden, and the photographs were taken by our talented photographer Andreas Omvik. Thanks to the owners for allowing us to visit the house and use these images :-)
