ØRSLEV MONASTERY

When historic buildings are to be carefully brought into the future, it requires respect for both craftsmanship and history. This has been the central focus in the extensive renovation of Ørslev Monastery – a cultural and historical treasure with roots dating back to the 12th century.

In close collaboration with the craftsmen involved, linseed oil paint and pigments have been chosen that both aesthetically and technically align with the building’s original expression. The renovation has not only aimed to recreate visual authenticity but also to ensure that the materials work in harmony with the physical structure of the old building.

We supplied custom-mixed colours based on historic pigments, carefully coordinated with architects and conservators to strike the right balance between preservation and renewal. These colours and finishes are not merely decorative – they help tell the rich and layered story of Ørslev Kloster.

As a supplier and partner, we see it as a privilege to contribute to the preservation of Danish cultural heritage. Ørslev Kloster stands as a living example of what happens when traditional techniques and modern expertise come together with respect.
