INTRODUCTION TO LINSEED PAINT

Linseed oil paint has been used for centuries and with good reason, since the advantages are multiple. The paint is especially used for wood and metals and works well on both treated surfaces as well as on surfaces already treated with linseed oil paint or other types of paint. When you use linseed paint, it is very important to stretch the paint well – thereby it will allow the paint to harden.

Watch this video and learn how to get the most beautiful results and at get some good advice along the way, especially before you begin your project with linseed paint.

In general, you must pay special attention to always apply thin layers and to stretch the paint in the direction of the wood. Linseed paint should never be applied in too thick layers, but instead rubbed thoroughly into the wood. Use the brush to dab small deposits of paint on the wood that afterwards needs to be painted together. This method makes the paint easier to stretch and leaves a more uniform expression of the surface. Never start in a corner, but always work from the middle and towards a corner. This prevents too much paint from getting into the corners, which never will harden.
